Friday My Town Shoot Out--Christmas Weather

More than for any of our previous posts, we would urge you to click on these photos to enlarge them for full effect.

***************************************************

It rose up out of the Pacific.

Joined forces with the waters of the Gulf of Mexico

Formed a massive storm covering half of the Unted States. And then took direct aim at Toronto.

Where we could see it coming from the top of the bluffs.

But weren't able to duck.

December 9, 2009. Our first snow storm of the winter.

  3. great narative, and the photos made me feel the cold air moving in. great combination the clouds / sun and water. Hope you both are doing well and are all most done with your christmas shopping. hugs and kisses from Brasil

  4. You do such great narrative. Excellent cloud photos, too!
I have a question that doesn't require a measuring tape (probably): how tall are you? From there I can calculate sleeve length (though it might be fun to guess, especially as I get two tries...).

  5. We are caught in the same path of this adventurous weather pattern. It is just making itself at home all across the continent. Nice photos. I finally got to be part of this shoot out.

  6. The storm passed through here on Monday, bringing much needed rain and some high winds. Bundle up and stay warm there - looks like you're in for a wallop!

  22. We decided not to get Lindsay's tail bobed, Sarah. It changes her springer spaniel profile a bit and acts as a great burr catcher.

  25. Beautiful pics!
    Mother nature is never boring!!!
Cold but sunny over here!! We had been for a walk to the beach!!!

  26. Beautiful. I saw it coming too, we enjoy a similar view over the lake. The way sunlight slants in rays penetrating the clouds is a view that never tires. (And yet people go jogging by in groups, headphones on, looking only at the path in front of them while glory is only a glance away - walking the dog makes us stop and see, I think.)

  27. You always take great pictures. The first one is my favorite the one with your dog makes it look like the dog is eatting snow.

  28. Very dramatic sky, I like those. Temperature here in Singapore is about 86 degrees F, it's so hot and humid. It's like that through out the year.

  29. You have a clever way of telling a story with your pictures. I may have to study your technique. Stay warm.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Regardless of how cold it gets in Canada, you two spread warmth everywhere you go. Thanks for posting. The shots made me shiver.

  31. Beautiful silvery pictures of sky, clouds, water, and snow on the ground. It looks cold! I did enlarge them and thought they were great shots.

  32. The weather is so fine as I can see. It's great to start the day. And I admit I envy the dog named Lindsay. :-) Thanks for sharing the sunny weather Linda and Barry!

BTW, can I grab the best photo of yours that I like? I will make another special post. Thanks in advance!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Of course you can Redlan! Help yourself.

  34. They're all stunning Barry. I love the clouds and the calmness of the scenery.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I like the color scheme--silver, black, and blue.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Like the calm before the storm Kikit!

  37. Oh ... wonderful pictures! How lucky are you to have been 'caught' in the snow storm. We're hoping for snow this year ... got just a sprinkle but maybe ... just maybe ... Santa will bring it. :)

  38. Wow, those were so powerful. I could feel the quiet of it coming.

But you all can keep the snow and cold! I'll enjoy it much more by looking at your photos from down here.

  42. I'm number 4582, instead of Mark, today. My grandmother taught me many things but one of the most wonderful of them was how to appreciate a good storm! Thanks for sharing your storm. Terrific post.
