My Favourite Colour--Green

Green isn't boastful.

It sits quietly in the background.

Letting other colours take center stage.

At this time of year, out of all the other colours, I dream of green.

  1. Green is a very soothing color for the eyes, and I can't take my eyes away from the beautiful flowers too. I love most bright and cheer-y colors!

  2. As do I Jama. But we can never forget that green is also the colour of money too. Another point in its favour.

  3. I bet you do dream of green. I always thought of Houston as GREEN, now coming out of GGRREEEEN Brasil, I see it with different eyes. your trees wont start leafing for another 2 months right? here in Houston some of the trees already have their lime green baby leaves. good post.

  5. Yes, Ginger, the greens in Brazil must put all our greens to shame.

We are still waiting for the first greens of spring here.

  6. I have been within a stones throw of Ireland, if you were a really good thrower of stones, ChefE. I once sailed the Atlantic and our boat moored off the Irish coast at Cobh for a few hours and I discovered for myself why Ireland is sometimes called the Emerald Isle.

  7. Yup, I search for the small shoots of green in my yard. I see the green of iris, daffodils. Small nubs of it on the shrubs. I pray in green during March, I think. I'm so glad you blogged about THIS blog on your OTHER blog! I am painting a Lake Winnepsaukee dream scene of deep summer. DEEP GREEN islands and mountains on blue. I had just walked into my house from a hunt for green and there was this blog!

  15. I agree with you about green. It certainly does make a wonderful background for those boastful colors in the garden. :)
